Daron was practically born with a fiddle in his hands. He started guitar lessons in the 2nd grade and violin lessons in 4th grade. His natural abilities rapidly moved him to performance level. The Blue and Gray Pickers snatched Daron up to join the band in 1986 when he was only 12 and Daron has been their fiddler ever since. Daron is also quite talented on the guitar, mandolin and banjo and he occasionally takes a turn with these other instruments at various gigs. Like the rest of the band, Daron is also a leading vocalist. Daron plays a violin made by Richard Duke. The violin is dated back to the 1780's. When he isn't pickin', Daron is a computer programmer. In 2002, Daron and his business partner Ryan Morton started a web design business named Victory Web Designs. Other bands have had the opportunity to call Daron their fiddle player over the years, but none so long as the Blue and Gray Pickers. |
